NA, Planning and Supply Develpment Director
Marco joined Reckitt Benckiser in September 2004 as Supply Services Director, for household, healthcare and personal care products, with responsibilities in Demand Planning, Customer Service, Transportation, Distribution and Warehousing, at first covering Italy then the region ( Italy and Greece).
In 2010, the Global Supply Chain Board of Reckitt Benckiser asked him to lead one of the key project for North America. In 2010 marco was relocated in USA, as Customer Service Director for North America ( USA and Canada) with the aim to develop an advanced customer service, deploying 15 new Customer Logistics Teams in NA.
The whole team grew not only in people (from 20 to 48), but also in performances and relationships, both with the sales organization and, more important, with the Key Gold Customers.
Currently Marco is covering a new position, as NA Planning and Supply Development Director. The monitored service level with customers demonstrated several areas of improvements in the whole supply chain, specific in the planning activities, both in Demand Planning and Factories. Marco is developing and leading a program in order to review processes, organization and systems in this area with the aim to sustain the increasing service level required by customers.
His background has been built up in all areas of complex Supply Chains.
He started his interest in Supply Chain during the university, Milano Politecnico, degree in Economic Engineering, and all working experiences followed this passion.
After the first position in Vestro ( Printemps – Redoute mail order company), where he gained and improved his knowledge in Outbound Supply Chain (warehousing, picking, reverse logistic and transportation), he was looking for a role in a manufacturing company, and Ametek and Black & Decker offered the opportunities. B&D, a challenging company, let him to enrich his knowledge of the other side of the Supply Chain (Inbound Supply Chain) and production environment issues; in B&D he was first responsible for production lines planning, to became, later on , Material Manager and the Plant Deputy Manager.
The consultancy experience, in Ernst & Young and then, with the merge, in Cap Gemini, let him widen his knowledge in different industries (manufacturing, distribution, FMCG, retail) and got skills of different Supply Chains processes (purchasing, system integration, process and organisation re-engineering, and production).
Marco came back to a company role when he was invited to become the Logistic Director in Goodyear Dunlop, before accepting Reckitt Benckiser challenge.
Marco, thanks to his specific experience as consultant in Ernst & Young, developed a focused approach, from the organizational and processes point of views, related to cost cutting, supply optimization and Customer Relationship Management.
French is the second foreign spoken language (mother tongue level ) after English.
Engineer, 45 years old, he is married with Giuliana, a Scientific and Surgery Consultant at San Raffaele Hospital, Milan, after two degrees in Medicine and Dentistry and two post graduate degrees in Pediatric and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Father of Silvia, 16 years old, and Matteo, 11 years old, successfully attending the IB program in The Dwight International School of New York , and outstanding Volleyball players.
His main hobbies are mechanical watches, practicing photography,sports (skiing ).
Marco is the co-founder of Ernst & Young Consultants Alumnae Association in Italy. He was one of the first elected Chairman.
He is as well interested in divulgative and teaching experience, as he writes for specialized magazines; he is invited speakers in national and International Conferences and Congress and in Postgraduate Courses in Economics and Engeneering ( MIP, Bocconi, Luiss and Cattolica ).
Entitled of a teaching Course in Logistics, at Milan Politecnico of Engeneering ( Prof. Ruggeri ).
