Joel Dupre
President du Conseil d'Administration, Cordia Corporation
JOEL DUPRE's BIO
In the course of a diverse 25-year career in domestic and international trade, Joel Dupré has proven to be a skilled executive and visionary entrepreneur.
He successfully introduced sports licensing to the luggage industry and in the process more than doubled the revenues of the luggage division of Sirco International Corp to 20 million dollars; having succeeded in the leveraged buy-out of Sirco 1995, as CEO with controlling interest, Joel recognized the potential of the telecom act of 1996 and was soon to develop the stock potential of Sirco by diversifying it’s activities into telecommunications. As the subs and affiliates businesses gained rapidly in growth, Joel formulated a plan for Sirco to divest itself of the original luggage business and rename the company eLEC Communications. (One of the few Telco to survive the “tech wreck” of 2000/2001). Joel was an early investor in Access One Telecommunications, which was later, sold to Talk America Holdings Inc.
He later formed One Dot Source, an international sourcing company providing private label import programs to America’s mass merchandisers.
Joel has been doing business in Asia for better than a quarter century. He has witnessed firsthand the incredible development of that part of the globe and with his many contacts there, has weathered the region’s booms and busts. His understanding of the business climate and the way to conduct business is by now second nature.
In 2005, he joined Cordia Corporation, (OTCBB: CORG), a global communications service provider of traditional CLEC and VoIP technologies to set up an international network for this New York based, telecommunications company ( www.cordiacorp.com ). Joel has set up subsidiaries in Brazil, Hong Kong, The Philippines and a joint venture in India.
He was responsible for running the Company on a day to day basis with direct involvement as well as oversight in Operations, Sales and Marketing, Finance and presenting the company to the public.
A naturalized U.S. citizen; Joel Dupré was born and raised in France. Before leaving France in 1975, at the age of 22, he lived a year in England, and while fulfilling his duty to serve in the military (Army Marine Corps), he was stationed in one of France’s overseas territories.
Joel is a graduate of the Chambre de Commerce School of Business in Paris. Through a school scholarship, he went to work in New York and currently lives in Fairfield County, CT. After 30 years in the United States, he is ready now for a new challenge that will bring him back to Europe in general and France in particular.
