Zachary Plottel
Director of Operations, Harris & Plottel, LLP
A firefighter and businessman for over a decade, Zachary Plottel spends much of his time serving his community. Mr. Plottel graduated from California State University, Chico (Chico State) in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. While a student at Chico State, Mr. Plottel studied Spanish and was a distinguished delegate of the National Model United Nations during its international conference in New York City. Prior to attending Chico State, Mr. Plottel studied for four years at Butte College in Oroville, California. At Butte College, Zachary Plottel earned both his Associate of Arts in Social and Behavioral Science and his Associate of Science in Fire Technology.
After earning his degree in Fire Technology, Zachary Plottel joined the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) in Oroville. As a Fire Apparatus Engineer for CAL FIRE from 1996 to 2000, Mr. Plottel risked his life to protect civilians and property from fires, and other emergencies. Having earned himself a position in the City of Chico Fire Department in 2000, Mr. Plottel continues to work as a Fire Apparatus Engineer and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Besides fighting fires, Mr. Plottel routinely responds to calls at the scene of vehicle accidents, hazardous material incidents, medical emergencies, and rescue situations.
Beyond his duties as a fireman, Zachary Plottel also works in the legal and real estate industries. Mr. Plottel has served as Director of Operations at the Estate & Long Term Care Planning Center Harris & Plottel, LLP, since the beginning of 2011 and owns the residential and commercial real estate management and development company Plottel Property Management. Mr. Plottel currently serves as Project Manager at Scardina Builders, Inc. When not working, Mr. Plottel enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors fishing, hiking, skiing, and riding motorcycles.
