As an experienced bank manager and financial creditor for several high profile corporate banking institutions in the greater Baltimore area, Tom Crawford maintains the title Administrative Vice President and Group Manager of M&T Bank. With M&T, Mr. Crawford is accountable for a customer financial portfolio of over $450 million in loan obligations with an average of $250 million, outstanding. As Group Manager, he is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with a number of high net-worth clients with a focus on new customer investments. Since 2008, Tom Crawford has been a member of the University of Baltimore Foundation, where he serves on the Board of Directors and the Strategic Planning Committee, and is an Advisor to University Properties, Inc.
Before working with M&T Bank, Mr. Crawford spent five years as Vice President and Team Leader with Chevy Chase Bank, where he refined client portfolios in the real estate, industrial, and private banking sectors. With Chase, he was responsible for establishing a loan production office with a corresponding financial portfolio of nearly $100 million, committed.
Between 1987 and 1998, Tom Crawford served with the Maryland National Bank, progressing in four years from Commercial Credit Officer to Assistant Vice President, and with the Mercantile-Safe Deposit & Trust Company, progressing from Assistant Vice President to Vice President in the next seven. During this time, Mr. Crawford was the Chairman of the Special Committee on Literacy Issues with the United Way of Central Maryland, where he was a dedicated member of the Agency Assessment and Funds Allocation Committee.
Tom Crawford received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland in 1984 and his Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Baltimore in 1991. He became certified to practice Public Accountancy in the State of Maryland in 1998, but chose to continue his career in banking.
