Tina Sheth

Developing new market strategies, bringing in new business, and analyzing volatility are nothing new to Tina Sheth, Partner and Chief Operations Officer at Cygnus Atratus, LLC, of Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Sheth reached her position just seven years after graduating with a BS in Finance and Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Tina Sheth began as an Assistant Trader, learning the intricacies of the trading systems of the Chicago exchanges. Within a year, she rose to become Head of Operations at Cygnus Atratus. Ms. Sheth was in charge of six individuals at the trading desk, and her duties included training new hires, managing information technology, and performing accounting functions.

Tina Sheth expanded her experience in the firm’s operations and became Partner and Chief Operations Officer, answering to the CEO for a wide range of initiatives intended to strengthen the firm internally and externally. Her responsibilities include analyzing market volatility and determining price differentials of derivatives. Ms. Sheth also finds ways to exploit new technologies, works in recruiting, and devises measures for compliance and education.

Tina Sheth has leveraged her own continuing education by earning a Certificate in Quantitative Finance, one of only 16 persons in the Chicago area to do so. The CFQ required her to study risk management, investment strategies, derivatives, arbitrage, statistical analysis, and stochastic calculus. Ms. Sheth is also a member of Markets Media, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Chicago Board Options Exchange, and the Security Traders Association of Chicago.

Tina Sheth’s involvement with various aspects of money goes back further, to her experiences fund-raising in her late teens. She raised more than $20,000 for Habitat for Humanity International, more than $25,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and more than $10,000 for Children’s Miracle Network. Currently she builds houses in Miami, Florida, for Habitat for Humanity.

Tina Sheth is also an accomplished world traveler, having visited 11 countries including Indonesia, India, and Nicaragua. Ms. Sheth also competed on her high school’s track and cross-country teams and figure skated for seven years.
