Stephen Yap of Fairfield, CT, has spent more than a decade in the advertising and marketing industry. He has held executive positions with companies such as global technology giant Google, Inc., and DoubleClick, a subsidiary of Google that provides online advertising services. Stephen Yap currently serves as Head of Emerging Products and Markets for Google, where he oversees the adoption, commercialization, and new market growth for leading platform solutions.
Mr. Yap graduated from Boston College in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. As an undergraduate, he lettered in swimming all four years and garnered two Most Valuable Player honors. He remains affiliated with his alma mater as a member of the Boston College Alumni Group.
After spending a brief period of time as a Sales Assistant at Katz Radio Network , Mr. Yap began his career in advertising and marketing as Manager of the Premium Beverage Division at Send.com, where he developed a theme-based gift line which resulted in the business unit doubling its revenues over a one-year period. He then joined DoubleClick, where he rose from Account Manager to Senior Account Director of Sales and Account Management during his four-year tenure. Next, Mr. Yap joined Omniture, Inc., as Director Global Channel Sales, and he was charged with developing and managing the new Channel Division. He then returned to DoubleClick as Director of Sales and later joined Google as Director of Sales and Account Management before assuming his current position.
As a leading digital marketing expert, Mr. Yap frequently speaks at conferences and seminars worldwide, including the SES Conference and Expo, iMedia Brand Summit, IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau), and eTail Latin America.
Stephen Yap resides in Fairfield, CT. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and participating in triathlons.
