An experienced emergency medicine physician, Seth Dinowitz, MD, works at Southern Ocean Medical Center (formerly Southern Ocean County Hospital) in Manahawkin, New Jersey. Since 2005, he has served the community’s medical needs. Dr. Dinowitz gained experience in this area of medicine through several hospitals and medical centers in New Jersey over the last 12 years.
Prior to his professional endeavors, Seth Dinowitz, MD matriculated at SUNY’s Stony Brook University on Long Island while pursuing both his undergraduate and medical degrees. Seth Dinowitz, MD, distinguished himself early on, graduating summa cum laude and as the Class Valedictorian with his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences in 1992. Highly focused and motivated, he received his MD from Stony Brook University four years later. He then fulfilled his residency at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey.
At Morristown Memorial Hospital, Seth Dinowitz, MD, focused his research efforts on nicotine addiction. In particular, he explored the prevalence of nicotine addiction in patients who smoked in a suburban emergency department. His investigation and hard work earned praise from the American College of Emergency Physicians Scientific Assembly gathering in 1998. Dr. Dinowitz earned the New Jersey chapter’s Govindrao Wable Research Award for Best Resident Presenter.
Early on in his career, Seth Dinowitz, MD, utilized his talents as medical provider in different capacities. He served as a House Physician at Morristown Memorial Hospital's Rehabilitation Division for a year and as an urgent care physician and a football team physician for brief periods in the 1990s. However, he soon recognized that emergency care best suited his passion and abilities. Seth Dinowitz, MD, has served in that area of medicine since 1999.
Between 2002 and 2004, Seth Dinowitz, MD, maintained active membership on the Emergency Medical Associates Board of Directors. In his current role at Southern Ocean Medical Center, he remains highly invested in capital campaign and fund-raising efforts. An avid sports fan, Dr. Dinowitz roots for local teams, including the New York Giants, Mets, and Islanders. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing ice hockey, racquetball, and softball.
