About him

Since 2010, Scott L. Scarborough has served as the Executive Director and Senior Vice President of The University of Toledo Medical Center. He is responsible for managing the daily operations of the only academic medical center in Northwestern Ohio and a Level I trauma center, as well as the affiliated hospitals and outpatient clinics. Scott L. Scarborough also ensures that medical experts continue to provide high quality health care services in specialty fields, such as cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, cancer treatment, kidney transplantation, and other surgeries.

Previously, Scott L. Scarborough was the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President for Finance Administration. From 2007 to 2011, he was in charge of accounting for the University and the Medical Center hospitals and clinics. Prior to joining the University of Toledo Medical Center, Scott L. Scarborough held several management positions in business, education and financial industries. He was the Executive Vice President at DePaul University from 2003 to 2007, where he was one of the top executives at the United States’ largest Catholic university. From 2001 to 2003, Scott Scarborough held the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company (also known as Texas Trust), where he was responsible for the strategic management of about $30 billion in fixed-income and endowed permanent funds belonging to public entities in the State of Texas. Mr. Scarborough was the Vice President for Business Affairs at The University of Texas at Tyler from 1996 to 2001, and prior to that, he worked as an Audit Manager/ Interim Director and Assistant Director of Employee Group Insurance within The University of Texas System from 1992 to 1996. In 1986, Scott L. Scarborough became an Audit Supervisor for Coopers & Lybrand/KPMG Peat Marwick, where he worked for six years.
