Rick Ament brings more than two decades of experience to his role as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ishpeming, Michigan-based health care organization Superior Healthcare System. As a visionary leader with extensive experience in multi-facility management, strategic planning, and progressive management, Rick Ament oversees the entity’s broader objectives while balancing short- and long-term goals. During his tenure at Superior Healthcare System, Ament led the team that designed and built a critically acclaimed replacement hospital. He also developed the company’s first strategic plan, led the company to millions of dollars in revenue, recruited more than 20 new providers to the organization, and led a customer service initiative that moved the organization from the middle of a national database to the top 1% and sustained that level for over three years. Prior to accepting his current role, Rick Ament held multiple executive-level roles with health care companies in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Minnesota.
Rick Ament holds a Certificate of Advanced Studies from The Ohio State University in Columbus. Prior to completing the certificate, he earned a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. Ament earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg.
Rick Ament helped Bell Hospital and Bell Foundation to earn the LSCP Distinguished Service Award in 2007 and 2009, respectively. His other awards and acknowledgments include the Young Healthcare Executive of the Year for Wisconsin and the status of runner-up for the Service Excellence Award from Marriott and Modern Healthcare.
As a distinguished leader and professional, Rick Ament maintains affiliations with the Upper Peninsula Health Care Network, the Business Advisory Council of the Michigan Hospital Association, and the Lake Superior Community Partnership.
