Currently a student at Wright State University in Chillicothe, Ohio, Rebekah Valentich will receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in December 2012. In addition to pursuing her academic endeavors, Ms. Valentich serves on the board of the children’s advocacy organization The Ross County Network for Children, also based in Chillicothe. Working to protect children who have suffered from sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, and neglect, Rebekah Valentich and those at The Ross County Network for Children plan local events, actively pursue fundraising efforts, and strongly advocate for the rights of children.
Rebekah Valentich raised her son as a single mother since he was three years old and home schooled him while pursuing a number of professional interests. She worked as a photographer, sales associate, and store manager working with children and their families; she also hired additional photographers and sales associates for the company. During her three years in this capacity, Ms. Valentich was recognized with a number of awards for both her photography and customer service efforts.
Rebekah Valentich next pursued her entrepreneurial interests and founded a housekeeping business offering janitorial services for residential and commercial properties. She managed this business for 12 years, growing the start-up to include 15 employees and selling the company in 2008 before beginning her studies at Wright State University.
In her spare time, Rebekah Valentich enjoys writing poetry. She has a large personal collection, much of which has been published. As she embarks on a career as a nurse, Ms. Valentich is learning Spanish in order to be able to converse with as many patients as possible. Rebekah Valentich is also is committed to fitness and nutrition as well as the rescue, care, and relocation of stray cats. A lover of all animals, Ms. Valentich has five dogs of her own and enjoys walking and hiking with them.
