About him

Dr. Peter Mehr brings both more than 25 years of expertise to his dental practice in Elizabethtown, New York. He enrolled in a Dental Laboratory Technology program at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, in 1976 and earned his Associate degree in 1978. Dr. Mehr subsequently began a pre-dental course of study at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Upon completion of his undergraduate work, Dr. Peter Mehr pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He graduated in 1985 with Clinical Honors, having completed internships in public health through the District of Columbia prison system and a community-based welfare program.

Since receiving his dental degree, Dr. Peter Mehr has pursued on average 100 hours of continuing education every year and has studied at several advanced dental education centers. In 2000, he completed the comprehensive dentistry continuum offered by The Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida, and in 2001 finished courses one through three with The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. Dr. Mehr has also studied at the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington, undertaking the Institute's periodontics, occlusion, and implant series.

Prior to launching his own practice, Dr. Peter Mehr held associate roles with two other dental offices. He first took a position with Michael Dick, DMD in Rutland, Vermont, working with the practice from 1985 into 1986. Dr. Mehr subsequently relocated to Schroon Lake, New York, where he joined the staff of Sherry Albert, DDS, and remained there until 1989, when he launched his own practice in Elizabethtown.

Dr. Peter Mehr has held Fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry since 2010 and also belongs to the American Dental Association.
