Professionally, Perry Mandera owns and operates The Custom Companies, a full-service transportation company headquartered in Northlake, Illinois. Recently gaining ISO 9001:2008 certification for his company, Mr. Mandera constantly looks for ways to improve services and update technologies to provide customers with the latest state of the art web based technologies available to insure customers receive real time information on each and every shipment. In 2000, the Illinois Trucking Association named Mr Mandera to its list of Top 100 American Transportation Executives of the Millennium, and today he serves on the organization’s Board of Directors.

Perry Mandera has built what began as a two-truck operation into a business that presently operates more than 1,000 pieces of equipment, a growth he credits to his simple business practice of always putting the customer first. Perry Mandera’s company provides services for warehousing and distribution, dedicated contract cartage, local cartage, air freight, truckload, and LTL needs. In addition, Mr. Mandera recently introduced “Black and Gold Guarantee” to his customer base. Black and Gold Guarantee allows the customer to guarantee service on LTL shipment.The concept is simple, if the shipment doesn’t arrive ontime, all charges are waived and the shipment is free.
Known in the Chicago area for his philanthropy, Perry Mandera deeply believes in the power of returning to the community. Employing more than 500 people in both Chicago and Los Angeles, Mr. Mandera already helps the economic situation in these communities. He gives generously to a wide range of charitable organizations, including but not limited to, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the American Heart Association, Inc., The American National Red Cross, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. In addition, Perry Mandera supports the YMCA of the USA and YWCA USA, the Leukemia Research Foundation, the Special Olympics, and The Walter and Connie Payton Foundation. He also started his own 501(c)(3) charity, Custom Cares Charities, to aid underprivileged children. When Hurricane Katrina destroyed so much of the Gulf Coast in 2005, Perry Mandera made the resources of The Custom Companies Inc. available, and shipped more than 40 truckloads of food and supplies to help victims of the disaster.
