With a family and business philosophy of “Learn, earn, and return,” Paul Pogue has shared his success as one of the top five general contractors in the Dallas area on numerous missions to Mexico, South America, India, and Africa. He founded Pogue Construction in Sherman, Texas, in 1979 and moved the firm to McKinney, Texas, in 1996. The company provides planning, design, building, construction management, scheduling, budgeting, and other commercial construction services. Mr. Pogue has utilized the company’s prosperity as a platform to aid people in need of assistance around the world.
For more than two decades, Paul Pogue and his family have traveled to distant continents to offer building services and monetary support for impoverished villages. As such, Mr. Pogue has assisted in constructing clinics and other vital structures. In 2003 alone, he traveled to Managua, Nicaragua, 14 times to assist in building an orphanage and church. He also has shared his expertise as a board director for global organizations that include Christ for India, Inc., and Mexico Ministries.
A private pilot who has accumulated nearly 2,000 hours of flight time, Mr. Pogue also enjoys international travel for personal adventures. Many years ago, while trying to take over the world in a game of Risk, he and a group of friends formed the idea to travel to exotic places. He has visited Kamchatka Peninsula in Northeastern Russia, Risk’s only portal to conquering Eurasia. Paul Pogue and his friends also have traveled to such awe-inspiring sites as Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Machu Picchu in Peru. He may have started out in Texas, but Mr. Pogue has become a global citizen.
