Moreover, I am a member of Alpha Beta Kappa (ABK) Honor Society Kaplan Chapter Vice-President. I am actively involved in the following Kaplan University Clubs.

Opportunities With Life Studies Club (OWLS) - Vice President and Newsletter Editor.
In addition to my college studies, I am a mother of two adult sons and a grandmother of five. I am recently married to Dave Garris adding two stepsons and four step-grandchildren.
I have prior college training in business management and computer operations. Currently, I am seeking employment that will create an environment and financial stability to help me complete my Bachelor’s Degree and provide me an opportunity to make major changes in my life.
My goals include completing my degree plan and working in a research position relating to social issues such as domestic abuse, child abuse, social violence, and possibly something to help eliminate or at least decrease social issues of this nature. Social violence is unnecessary and surely, there is a potential to help relieve the problems within our society associated with violent behavior.
In addition, I hope to help re-order social expectations within areas of employment stability and one’s ability to find employment. Currently, I believe there are too many factors that prevent employment such as employment depending on credit scores, background checks, and other personal deficiencies that only create an increase in the unemployment rate. I would like to see a "second chance" program created by employers if the reason for hiring a person is related to any of the above reasons. I cannot see any "personable" and "compassion" with modern cooperation's, and businesses when seeking new employees, because not hiring a person because of a low credit score or misdemeanor background problems seems unethical in my personal opinion.
Additionally, I hope to see changes in health care and preventative care for all Americans. Moreover, I hope to help initiate some type of help for those living in poverty, and for the homeless (not all people in poverty or those that are homeless fall into the stereotype of addicts and/or alcoholics). Personally, I believe there is a solution to solving these social problems.
