Marco Bitran married to Devorah Bitran in 2005, has two children (ages 5 and 2) and lives in Boston, Massachusetts. Marco is an avid runner and spends much of his time with his family and friends. He has volunteered for charitable organizations including the Somerville Homeless Coalition and is dedicated to improving housing for lower income individuals.
Marco Bitran is the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AI Exchange, Inc., a hedge fund separately managed account firm located in Boston, Massachusetts. He developed a technology system that allows wealth managers and investors to access alternative investment strategies. Marco Bitran raised $1.5 million in venture capital to start the business and designed the technology that revolutionized trade processing operations.
Before setting up AI Exchange, Bitran founded Clearstream Investments, LLC, also known as GMB Capital Management, LLC. At Clearstream, he expanded a trading fund to $550 million in assets using a model created by Professor Gabriel R. Bitran of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and MIT Ph.D. graduate Shioulin Sam.
As a Global Industry Analyst for Wellington Management Company, Marco Bitran oversaw a billion-dollar sleeve of the Global Research Equity Portfolio and lent his expertise to other portfolio managers.
Marco Bitran spent two years at Morgan Stanley in California as an Equity Research Associate and Financial Analyst. He was a member of the first team to predict the upcoming drop in technology stock values and also participated on teams that advised large technology companies on major buyouts and other transactions. He also participated on teams that advised large technology companies on strategic transactions. Bitran was part of a group to advise a client on an initial public offering (IPO).
In 1997, Bitran designed computer chips with voice processing capabilities for Qualcomm as an Engineer in the Cellular Systems Division. His first experience of business ownership was as founder and CEO of Digital Entertainment Media, Inc., which provided high quality Internet music streaming to websites. In the endeavor, Marco Bitran led a team of 25 students from Harvard, MIT, and Stanford Universities.
His collegiate career includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Economics from MIT and a Master’s in Business Administration at Harvard Business School. At MIT, Bitran was chosen for three national honor societies and became a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Marco Bitran provides support for charities, including the Combined Jewish Philanthropies in Boston and the Crepaldi Bitran Charitable Foundation.
