Specializing in workers' compensation defense cases, Kristin Swanson-Mace operates her own law office in Orlando, Florida. With clients such as Halifax Health in Daytona Beach and the Division of Risk Management for the State of Florida, Ms. Swanson-Mace represents employers, carriers, and the self-insured as they face workers’ compensation claims filed against them by workers injured on the job.
Kristin Swanson-Mace spent two years studying engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point and transferred to Providence College in 1981. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1983. The next year, Ms. Swanson-Mace entered California Western School of Law, and she earned her Juris Doctor in 1987. Kristin Swanson-Mace received the American Jurisprudence Award in Trusts and qualified as an Estates Recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Civil Procedure.
From 1988 to 1999, Kristin Swanson-Mace served as an Associate with Rissman, Barrett, Hurt, Donahue & McLain, P.A., undertaking workers’ compensation defense. After spending nearly two years as a Partner with Spangler, Mace, & Zinaich, P.A., she opened her own law practice with the same specialization.
Ms. Swanson-Mace belongs to numerous professional organizations, including The Florida Bar and the Rhode Island Bar Association. In addition, she is a member of the Workers' Compensation Section of The Florida Bar, maintaining an AV® rating with Martindale-Hubbell.
Kristin Swanson-Mace is active in a number of community organizations, including the Avalon Church Teen Challenge, and the Journey Ministries Parents Encouraging Confident Choices, Inc. She is a mother of four and enjoys attending her children’s baseball and basketball games. Ms. Swanson-Mace’s oldest child, Collin, passed away in 2010 from an ecstasy overdose, and she is committed to teaching young people about the dangers of this drug. Kristin Swanson-Mace belongs to the YMCA and enjoys walking and training for 5-K and half marathon races.
