Mr. Kenneth Burr is a Seattle-based Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in relationship counseling. Kenneth Burr has been working as a counselor and minister for more than 20 years and is a nationally recognized speaker on Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) issues. Kenneth Burr currently works out of his own private MFT practice, Life Cycle Family Counseling, PS. A compassionate and sensitive counselor, Kenneth Burr proudly works with all people regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation, or familial status. A firm believer in holistic therapy, Kenneth Burr helps his clients make emotionally healthy connections between their minds, bodies, emotions, sexuality, and spirituality. Before founding his private practice, Kenneth Burr was an ordained minister working in the Methodist church. Kenneth Burr served for seven years as the pastor of the Lynnwood Free Methodist Church in Lynnwood, Washington. Kenneth Burr also presided over the congregation of the Kirkham Free Methodist Church in Lancashire, England, for one year. Burr's ordination was later recognized by the Association of American Baptist Churches USA. As a speaker, Kenneth Burr has appeared at leading MFT conferences, including the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) conference. Kenneth Burr has also lectured at a number of colleges and universities across the country. Some of Kenneth Burr’s seminars have included "Building a Strong House of Marriage," "How to Raise Teenagers Without Losing Your Mind," and "Coming Out, Coming Home, Making Room For Gay Spirituality." The foundation of the latter seminar became Kenneth Burr’s recent book, “Making Room for Gay Spirituality in Therapy,” which was published in March 2009 by Routledge, Taylor and Francis and is also available at Amazon.com. Prior to earning his MFT certification, Kenneth Burr received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Seattle Pacific College and his Master’s degree in Theology from the Fuller Theological Seminary. Kenneth Burr received his certification to practice Marriage and Family Therapy from Presbyterian Counseling Services.
