Following his internship, he remained at UAB, accepting a full-time faculty position as Assistant Professor of Psychology. Joseph Frey also served as the Chief Psychologist for the Children and Youth Project in the Department of Pediatrics. In 1983, Joseph Frey obtained his license to practice psychology in Georgia and assumed a full-time faculty position at the Medical College of Georgia (now Georgia Health Sciences University), where he continues to teach today. Over the years, Dr. Frey has held both full- and part-time faculty positions, offered seminars on marital and family therapy, and served as the Director of Family Therapy Training and Services in the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Georgia. Providing legal consultation, court-ordered custody evaluations, and competency to stand trial assessments, Joseph Frey also works closely with clients seeking career development or change. Currently, Joseph Frey supplements his private practice and adjunct teaching position by serving as Chief Executive Officer of Partners in Achievement Learning Centers. A team of psychologists, including Dr. Frey, runs Partners in Achievement, a company in the tutoring industry that assists students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia and attention deficit disorder.
