An attorney with nearly two decades of experience in civil litigation, John Cheeley currently represents clients at his practice, the Law Office of John P. Cheeley, P.C., in Norcross, Georgia. Mr. Cheeley has served on the Georgia Attorney General’s Advisory Committee and as a Special Assistant Attorney General. He also holds affiliation with the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and maintains a BV Distinguished rating from the Martindale-Hubbell peer review system.
A lifelong Georgia resident, Mr. Cheeley began to set the stage for his career while he was an undergraduate at the University of Georgia, during which time he studied at the Terry College of Business. An outstanding student and active member of the campus community, Mr. Cheeley took part in the Defender-Advocate Society of the Student Judiciary, volunteered with the Communiversity, and earned selection to the BIFTAD Honor Society. Following receipt of his Bachelor of Arts in Finance in 1989, Mr. Cheeley enrolled at the Georgia State University College of Law, where he continued to build upon his solid academic foundations. A founding member of the Federalists Society, member of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, and recipient of the Best Legal Brief Award, John Cheeley earned his Juris Doctor from Georgia State in 1992 and subsequently launched a successful legal career.
After two years at Cheeley Firm, P.C., and four years at Cheeley & Cheeley, P.C. in Duluth, Mr. Cheeley founded the Law Office of John P. Cheeley, P.C., where today he works on a wide variety of civil cases. Mr. Cheeley lives and works in the greater Atlanta metropolitan area.
