Dr. Joel Todd Leroy Prince has been providing care for animals for over 25 years. He began his veterinary career at Iowa State University, where he earned his Associate’s in Animal Science. From there, Dr. Joel Todd Leroy Prince attended the University of Illinois and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. After finishing school, Dr. Prince gained a plethora of veterinary experience, practicing in the states of Illinois, Florida, and Chicago. He worked at the Animal Medical Center in Skokie, Illinois until he decided to start his own practice. In 2003, he and two partners—Dr. Tom Staudacher and Dr. Sandra Faeh—opened Elmhurst Animal Care Center in Elmhurst, Illinois. The Center offers state-of-the-art veterinary care and medicine, along with grooming, training, and daycare services. During his career in veterinary medicine, Dr. Prince was awarded diplomate status from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, specialty Canine and Feline Practice, in 1993—a designation for which only 15 veterinarians in Illinois are qualified. Dr. Prince is also a member of the American Veterinary Association, Illinois State Veterinary Association, and the Chicago Veterinary Association. Today, Dr. Prince continues to stay connected to his alma mater. In 2006, he became a member of the University of Illinois President’s Council. His yearly donations to the College of Veterinary Medicine help fund scholarships and other areas of the school. Dr. Prince attends over 100 hours of classes yearly in order to further his education and to remain up-to-date on the most advanced veterinary techniques and practices. When Dr. Prince is not working with animals, he enjoys golfing, traveling, snowmobiling, and interacting with his children.
