    Doby Public Relations was created in 1998 while founder Jerry Doby was employed as a legal assistant for one of the largest civil litigation firms in the United States. While moonlighting as a talent coordinator for the documentary film, "Welcome to Death Row" by Xenon Pictures, he met former Death Row publicists, George "Dad" Price and Norman Winters and got to watch the masters at work. Both gentlemen took a liking to Jerry and assisted his transition into the PR world, providing valued advice and experience. His education, based on watching how those established publicists did things, garnered Doby Public Relations its first major client.

My name is Jerry Doby and I am the Executive Editor for The Hype Magazine ( http://thehypemagazine.com) and a freelance publicist with more than 15 Years experience. I am a member of the Recording Academy (GrammyU & Grammy365) and Managing Partner of SwurvRadio. I also hold the position of Director of Public Relations for Joint One Radio, Tokyo Japan.

I have several published articles on creating publicity campaigns on Helium.com, Hip Hop relevance in today's music market via Suite101.com and maintain a blog entitled "The Urban Link", surrounding the music and DJ industry, ( http://theurbanlink.net).

I have more than 10 years service in the U.S. Army and am a decorated combat veteran. I am attending Full Sail University (online) to obtain my degree in Music Business with a target graduation year of 2013.
