A skilled veterinarian with more than two decades of experience in the care of animals, Dr. James Thorsen serves as the President of AHC (Animal Health Center) of Columbus, Georgia. Dr. James Thorsen laid the groundwork for his career in veterinary medicine while attending Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. Though the school offered a wide array of courses, Dr. James Thorsen focused his attention on microbiology. Dr. James Thorsen completed his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology but continued on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1987. Overseeing the day-to-day operations of AHC Columbus, Georgia, Dr. James Thorsen diagnoses animals, prescribes treatment, and performs surgeries when necessary. In addition, Dr. James Thorsen sets the standard of conduct for his staff that ensures the clients' satisfaction. Dr. James Thorsen leads an active life away from his duties at AHC Columbus, Georgia. A prominent leader in his community, Dr. James Thorsen holds positions on the boards of numerous local organizations, including the Muscogee County Humane Society, Columbus Business Improvement District, and UPtown Columbus, Inc. Dr. James Thorsen also holds a membership with the local Rotary Club and the First Presbyterian Church adult choir. In his free time, Dr. James Thorsen enjoys reading, and one of his favorite books is The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein.
