At present, Dr. James Eells oversees a private practice in Las Vegas, where he provides concierge medical services. After five years of working with MDVIP, a nationally respected group which operates under a similar model, Dr. Eells began developing his own form of concierge medicine; he sees fewer patients each year in order to enhance the level of customer service and provide more in-depth care for those he does treat. In addition to performing comprehensive yearly physicals on each of his patients, Dr. James Eells gives them his cell phone number for any pressing situations that arise outside of normal office hours. He would rather assist them than have them visit an emergency room where the physicians on call do not fully understand the medical histories and current health problems faced by his patients.
To treat his patients, Dr. James Eells relies on his considerable education. He began his postsecondary studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he undertook coursework in chemistry and biology and obtained his Bachelor of Science in 1985. Later that year, he enrolled in the Nevada School of Medicine. Upon completing his Doctor of Medicine, he fulfilled his residency requirements at Las Vegas' University Medical Center. There, Dr. James Eells served on units that offered intensive and cardiac care, and he focused the majority of his efforts on in-patient services.
His formal training finished, Dr. James Eells amassed a wealth of experience in other settings. He joined the United States Air Force as a physician in 1992 and practiced medicine at bases in California, Texas, Alabama, and Nevada. In addition, he held the titles of Chief of Internal Medicine, Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine, and Chief of Medicine. Before striking out on his own, Dr. James Eells also worked for Internal Medicine Associates, a practice composed of 20 doctors.
