Gilda Mullette, a performer, teacher, and critic, has traveled to cities around the globe, as well as to major U.S.-based centers for the arts such as Los Angeles and New York City. Mullette has enjoyed acclaim for her accomplishments in theatre and dance, and has completed production and choreography work in a variety of genres.
Since beginning her career at an early age, Gilda Mullette has worked with and studied under some of the world’s foremost entertainers and artists, among them Gene Kelly, Richard Rogers, Agnes de Mille, and Bob Fosse. In addition, she has performed alongside Robert Morse and Rudy Vallée and worked with leading comedians such as John Belushi, Dudley Moore, Dick Shawn, and Buddy Hackett.
As a teenager, Gilda Mullette secured a scholarship to the prestigious American Ballet Theatre, which she followed with training at The Royal Ballet in London. She also studied dance at New York City's famed Juilliard School. Since completing her formal education, Gilda Mullette has gone on to dance and act in productions of Oklahoma! and Carousel, as well as in Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.
Aside from her pursuits in dance and theatre, Gilda Mullette keeps busy through a range of recreational activities. A lifelong learner, she has studied the art of kung fu, spent time training for her glider license, and skydived dozens of times in England. She is also qualified to teach Ashtanga yoga and continues to practice it on a daily basis.
In more leisurely endeavors, Mullette enjoys spending time at home, which affords her ample opportunities for working in the garden and planting roses. She grows her own organic food and loves to cook vegetables in the preparation of Thai, French, Indian, and Italian dishes. An avid reader, Gilda Mullette delights in French poetry and has finished most of the classics. She counts French novelist Emile Zola among her favorite authors.
