Former business executive Gary di Silvestri spent more than 15 years in the finance industry. Beginning as a financial analyst and associate at Morgan Stanley, he later served as a vice president of Credit Suisse First Boston, where he directed the global discretionary equity asset management business. Gary di Silvestri ultimately founded and served as CEO of Deutsche Suisse Asset Management.
After this successful career, Mr. di Silvestri has focused on his lifelong interest in athletics. Now a competitive cross-country ski racer, he has won several races, including the Vancouver Island Loppet and the Whistler Olympic Park Loppet. Gary di Silvestri is currently the president of the Dominica Ski Association and will represent the nation during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, where he will also serve as the country’s flag bearer during the opening ceremonies. He is training for the 2015 World Championships as well.
Mr. di Silvestri has excelled as an athlete since high school. A champion wrestler as a student at Monsignor Farrell High School, he earned 10 varsity letters and was named the top student-athlete in New York City. He also rowed for a national championship crew team while at Georgetown University, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1989.
