Founded in 1881, Marquette University is a leading Jesuit university in Milwaukee, WI for 15,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Recognized as a leading employer in the Milwaukee area and nationally recognized for our pioneer wellness program, we took pride in carrying out the university's values of service, excellence, academics, and faith. (Yes, faith is a touchy one in HR!) Our Human Resources team serviced over 2,500 full-time employees and hundreds of student employees.
Selected accomplishments:
- Streamline in-house FMLA processes for 300+ annual leaves.
- Expert knowledge of all employer benefit plan documents and regulatory requirements.
- Saved employees over $30,000 in disputing medical coding discrepancies.
- Educate and promote retirement plan. Matching program had an 85% participation rate.
- Designed a quarterly HR/benefits newsletter to increase awareness on important topics.
- Technical project management in Oracle 11 , Oracle r12, and PeopleSoft implementations.

The Office of International Education (OIE) services international students (non residents), faculty, and international partnerships for study abroad. Approximately 80 different countries are represented at the university and nearly 3,000 inquiries are answered every academic year to international prospective students. OIE works to promote the internationalization of Marquette University by recruiting and advising international students and scholars, developing vibrant partnerships with international institutions, providing innovative study abroad opportunities, and offering dynamic instruction in academic English language skills.
Selected accomplishments:
- Created a new budget that allowed easy understanding for money moving in/out.
- Designed an international electronic newsletter for faculty and students.
