Elaine Hochberg

A former Senior Vice President of Marketing of Forest Laboratories Inc., Elaine Hochberg recently earned promotion to Executive Vice President of Marketing. Since December 2007, Elaine Hochberg has served as the Chief Commercial Officer. She has total marketing and sales responsibility for Forest’s promoted and development stage products. In this capacity, Hochberg oversees four different commercial functions at headquarters, including Product Management, Market Research, Commercial Assessments/Planning, and Managed Care Operations & Government Policy. Elaine Hochberg also has responsibility for Forest’s primary care, specialty, and institutional sales divisions. In total, Elaine Hochberg oversees the activities of approximately 200 marketing professionals and 3,000 sales personnel. She is accountable for all commercial activities including setting financial targets and marketing objectives, strategy development, market research, pricing, managed care, and government policy. She also has responsibility for overseeing the commercial assessments of all new product opportunities at Forest.

Elaine Hochberg has contributed significantly to the company over the past 14 years. Hochberg has directed the commercial activities supporting the launches of 15 new products during that span of time. Her most notable achievements include the launches of three blockbuster products each with sales of well over 1 billion dollars: Celexa and Lexapro, two antidepressants, and Namenda, an important treatment for Alzheimer’s disease.

Elaine Hochberg joined Forest Laboratories Inc. through the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Forest Pharmaceuticals Inc. Initially accepting the position of Vice President of Marketing. She was invited to assume the same position at the parent company, Forest Laboratories Inc., a year later.
