    Summary

    Dr. Bruce Hugh Dorman has more than three decades of experience in medicine as a practitioner and teacher. As a student at Duke University Medical School, he graduated in the top 5 percent of his class and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After receiving his MD, he spent the majority of his career with the Medical University of South Carolina in positions such as Director of Research and Director of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Bruce Hugh Dorman also served as a staff anesthesiologist at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Throughout his career, Dr. Dorman has contributed to this field of study through research and writing. He has authored numerous book chapters and published his own textbook, Anesthesia for Orthopedic Surgery. While earning his PhD in pathology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he produced pieces for Methods in Cell Biology, Volume 21B, and for Human Carcinogenesis. Arthroplasty of the Shoulder, Anesthesia for Orthopedic Surgery, and the Atlas of Anesthesia account for some of the works that included his chapters throughout the 1990s. Moreover, he was named Journal Reviewer for three distinguished publications.
