Mark Hornfeld, D.O., maintains a private practice in ophthalmology at his Vista Laser Vision office in New York City. Dr. Hornfeld specializes in cataract and refractive surgery, including LASIK and CustomVue procedures. LASIK, commonly known as laser eye surgery, is used to correct myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. CustomVue techniques allow Dr. Hornfeld to make unique measurements and corrections of each patient's vision with results that can outperform contacts or glasses.

He was granted a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. Previously, Dr. Hornfeld earned his B.S. in Biology from the State University of New York at Albany.
Dr. Mark Hornfeld began his medical training at the Brooklyn Jewish/Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, as an intern in 1988. He then advanced over the next four years to an internal medicine residency and medical oncology fellowship at the Cabrini Medical Center in New York City. Next, Dr. Hornfeld served his residency in ophthalmology at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center, where he was promoted to Chief Resident in 1995.
Before entering private practice in 1996, Dr. Hornfeld served a two-month stint as a surgeon in a humanitarian project at the Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, India. He currently supports The Hunger Project.
