A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Erik Goluboff recently left the New York-Presbyterian Hospital system, affiliated with Columbia University’s and Cornell University’s medical schools, after 15 years of practice in the Department of Urology. For 13 of those years, Dr. Goluboff functioned as the Director of Urology of The Allen Hospital, one of five medical centers under the New York-Presbyterian banner. In this role, Dr. Erik Goluboff created the entire department from the ground up and built a medical practice that served 11,000 outpatients and conducted 700 surgeries per year. During this growth period, he recruited specialists for the urodynamics suite and the erectile dysfunction discipline while developing a well-regarded residency program. Dr. Goluboff also served as the Professor of Clinical Urology at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, from 2007 to 2011 after previously holding Assistant and Associate Professor positions from 1996 to 2007.
At present, Dr. Erik Goluboff conducts his medical practice as an Attending Physician in the Department of Urology at the Beth Israel Medical Center, also located in New York City. Dr. Goluboff assumes additional responsibilities as the Physician-in-Charge of Urologic Oncology and cares for those with cancers of the prostate, kidney, bladder, and other organs. Dr. Goluboff received recognition from the Consumers’ Research Council of America as one of America’s Top Surgeons in 2012; the same group recognized him as a Top Urologist in 2009.
In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Erik Goluboff continues to teach medical students and residents as the Professor of Clinical Urology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University. Dr. Goluboff also conducts research in urology. His work garnered him a 2012 Teacher of the Year award from the Department of Urology at Beth Israel.
A native of New York City, Dr. Erik Goluboff attended Columbia College as an undergraduate and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he acquired his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). He is board certified in urology and experienced in urologic surgery, urologic oncology, and robotic surgery.
