Dr. Bradley Schwack began his college education at Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences in Ithaca, New York, benefiting from the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program. While at Cornell, Dr. Bradley Schwack appeared on the dean’s list and achieved the Corson Prize for French literature. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in French Literature and Biology. Dr. Bradley Schwack then traveled to New Orleans, enrolling in Tulane University School of Medicine, where he earned an M.S. in Pharmacology, graduating valedictorian. Dr. Bradley Schwack stayed on to study health care, achieving his M.D. in 2004. As a medical student, Dr. Bradley Schwack took an honors general surgery elective, in which he received virtual reality laparoscopic training and practiced open surgeries on porcine subjects. Dr. Bradley Schwack also received the E. Edward McCool, Jr. Surgery Award, given to the student who best demonstrates prowess in the surgical discipline.
After completing his M.D., Dr. Bradley Schwack attended the urban campus of New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, where he finished his residency in general surgery. While at NYU, he earned an award for effective instruction of medical students. After his residency, Bradley Schwack, M.D. accepted a clinical fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery and bariatrics at Norton Healthcare in Louisville, Kentucky, where he studied under Dr. Jeff W. Allen. Dr. Bradley Schwack currently holds licenses to practice in New York and Kentucky and certification to place the Lap-Band and Realize adjustable gastric banding systems.
Dr. Bradley Schwack maintains professional affiliations with organizations, such as the American and Kentucky Medical Associations, and the American College of Surgeons. Bradley Schwack, M.D. has published a number of articles and videos, covering topics including intestinal malrotation, gastric bypass, adjustable gastric bands, as well as cancer and gene therapies. Dr. Bradley Schwack believes in the value of community service and has contributed his time to the Ozanam home for boys and Christmas in October, a program dedicated to refurbishing houses in New Orleans.
