Summary
Dr. Dominic D’Agostino has been teaching courses in molecular pharmacology and physiology to students at the University of South Florida since 2008. Dr. Dominic D’Agostino also maintains involvement in several studies researching metabolic treatments for neurological disorders such as seizures, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). Prior to launching his career, Dr. Dominic D’Agostino received his Bachelor of Science from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where he studied biological and nutrition sciences. Dr. D’Agostino then earned a PhD in Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He followed his studies with a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University, where he was a member of the Department of Neuroscience. Dr. D’Agostino completed his training with a second fellowship at the University of South Florida. Dr. D’Agostino volunteers extensively with a number of organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. He has also performed missionary work in West Virginia, Mexico, and Honduras through his involvement with Mission Time 4:13, the ministry branch of Artists in Christian Testimony Intl. He has also worked with Metropolitan Ministries, Inc., to help feed the homeless and with The Humane Society of Tampa Bay as an animal companion and registered foster parent. Additionally, Dr. D’Agostino supports the Lifelink Foundation, Inc., an organization advocating for increased organ donations; Florida Blood Services, which raises awareness of blood bank needs; and Winning the Fight Against Neurodegenerative Diseases. In his spare time, he enjoys scuba diving, kayaking, hiking, and studying sports nutrition.
