2007 - 2008Senate Select Commitee on Bay Area Sustainable Development and Economic Progress
I have develop through this committee according to the direction of the Chair, an important forum to thoughtfully examine various opportunities and challenges unique to the greater Bay Area and propose workable solutions. Through this select committee, I hold public hearings and correspond with federal and state agencies to articulate our regional interests. The committee is to establish networks of advisory groups throughout the Bay Area and the Central Valley to facilitate constituency input and foster public private partnerships.
Select Committee on Asian Pacific Rim Economic Development (APR)
I developed a public affair strategy by holding forums and creating partnership with the private sector to promote California businesses in countries of the Asian Pacific Rim.
• Encouraged Foreign Direct investment to California through public private partnerships.
• Researched markets and regulatory environment in Asian countries.
• Collaborate with US Department of Commerce, Academia, private sector and Non-profits to promote California industries in the Asian markets.
• Investigated possible location for a California State Trade Office in Asia
• Assessment of regulatory impact of US Trade agreements with Asian Countries.
• Policy forum on Trade and cultural exchange and economic development
2004 - 2007• Advise California State Senator on public policy pertaining to Transportation, Public Safety and International Trade.
• Negotiated with local government, state and federal agencies policy options on behalf of the Senator.
• Monitored implementation and enforcement of Senator’s legislations in collaboration with governmental agencies.
• Lobbied members of the Legislature and interest groups.
