Chad Dauman Consumer Protection Clinic
Currently in the top 12 percent of his law school class, Chad Dauman strives for success at Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts. Expecting to earn his Juris Doctor in 2011, Chad Dauman has received honors such as the Best Brief award for a legal research and writing class and a CALI award for accomplishments in white collar crime and evidence courses.
Chad Dauman also completed coursework toward a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Previously, as an undergraduate student at Long Island University, C. W. Post Campus, Chad Dauman was a member of the Dean’s List and the Alpha Phi Sigma criminal justice honor society.
Committed to learning the legal profession before graduation from law school, Chad Dauman now holds two law-related positions. As a Research Assistant for Eric Blumenson’s treatise on Massachusetts criminal defense, Chad Dauman helps edit and revise the treatise based on current case law. He also is a Student Attorney with the Consumer Protection Clinic, where he assists consumers in District Court and tenants in Housing Court.
Chad Dauman gained exposure to a successful legal practice during a Summer Associate position in the summer of 2010. Working closely with attorney David Hoose of Sasson Turnbull & Hoose, Chad Dauman researched various criminal and constitutional legal issues. He prepared detailed legal memoranda, drafted motions, and developed solid defenses.
As an Extern in the Office of the Chief Public Defender in Hartford, Connecticut, Chad Dauman represented a variety of clients at arraignment proceedings, researched and drafted motions, and interviewed clients.
