Carole Aciman advises companies on legal strategies related to U.S. and international expansion as well as a wide range of issues in connection with tech transfer, software/hardware, cloud computing and other web-services transactions; biotech, green tech, outsourcing/insourcing transactions.
She has extensive experience structuring and negotiating domestic and cross-border commercial transactions involving technology, e-commerce, intellectual property and multimedia. Her experience in matters involving technology transfer and the outsourcing of information technology and business processes includes structuring and negotiating numerous transactions with an emphasis on organization-wide products and services, with deals involving system procurement, integration and divesture, research and development, enterprise resource planning, client service, and other arrangements in single- and multi-country locations. She also has experience advising clients involved in commercialization ventures with universities, joint R&D, and marketing collaboration. In the 2010 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, Carole is referred to as "phenomenally smart and she blows everyone away with her negotiating skills."

Ms. Aciman's clients have included publicly traded, privately held companies and entrepreneurs based in the United States, in France, India and across the globe in a wide range of industries, including biotech, health care, medical devices, aerospace, manufacturing, retail and luxury goods, publishing and multimedia, hospitality, food, natural resources, and commercial real estate. She also represents venture capital firms, private equity funds, and governments.
Carole is a Conseiller du Commerce Exterieur de la France, in the North East Section of the United States.

Ms. Aciman is a frequent lecturer, panelist, and author in the United States and France on cross-border business, high-tech commerce, and other topics in her areas of concentration. Her recent presentations include "The Business Environment for the Stimulus Package: Legal Framework and Hurdles" at a seminar presented by MEDEF International, Paris, October 2009; "The Risks Associated With the Licensing and Transfer of Marks in the United States and Canada: How to Avoid Them" at a seminar presented by APRAM, Paris, September 2009; "Case Studies in Legal Outsourcing: What Works, What Does Not, and Why" at the American Conference Institute's LPO Summit, September 2008; and "Strategic IP Planning for Small and Growth Companies" at the ACI's Corporate Counsel and Business Forum on Strategic IP Planning, February 2008.

She is the author of the chapter titled "Common Issues in a Transactional Practice" in Managing Technology Legal Issues: Leading Lawyers on Transactions, Agreements, and Intellectual Property Management (2008) and the chapter titled "Strategies for Negotiating With and Protecting IP" in Intellectual Property Licensing Strategies: Leading Lawyers on Drafting IP Agreements, Negotiating Terms, and Evaluating Financial Implications (2007), both published by Aspatore Books. She has written numerous articles for publications that include Cahiers Jurisdiques et Fiscaux de l'Exportation; Journal of Practice Management, Development, and Technology; and Journal of Internet Law.
