Throughout his life and career, executive and mergers and acquisitions specialist Arnold McClellan has maintained involvement in an array of educational, professional, charitable, and personal endeavors, attaining a high degree of achievement in each of his pursuits. Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Arnold McClellan earned his B.B.A. in Accounting from Georgia State University. He received his Certified Public Accountant designation before launching his career as a Tax Consultant at Arthur Andersen LLP in 1984. After three years with Arthur Andersen, Arnold McClellan joined the Atlanta office of Deloitte as a Tax Manager, effectively commencing a lengthy professional relationship with the firm.
Promoted from Senior Tax Consultant to M&A Transaction Services (MATS) Tax Manager in 1989, Arnold McClellan moved to New York City and continued to build on his record of achievement. While on assignment to Deloitte London’s United States Corporate Tax Services Division from 1994 through 1996, Arnold McClellan secured partnership in the firm, after which he became MATS Tax Partner at Deloitte’s San Francisco office. For the next 14-plus years, Arnold McClellan received a series of advancements at Deloitte on local, national, and international levels. He won promotion to Regional Managing Partner of MATS, served on both the Northern California and U.S. MATS Leadership Committees, and gained appointment as U.S. MATS Representative to important national and global committees.
Recognized for his service to the community, Arnold McClellan has volunteered his time, energy, and resources to many philanthropic causes in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Over the years, Arnold McClellan has donated to such organizations as the Edgewood Center for Children and Families, the San Francisco Food Bank, and the United Way, where he holds membership in the Tocquevillle Society. A longtime contributor to the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco as well, Arnold McClellan has spent several years as a Board Member and served in such roles as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee, and assisted in the implementation of a new market tax credit structure.
When not working, Arnold McClellan enjoys all manner of recreational activities. He plays golf and tennis, works out, goes hiking, and practices yoga whenever possible. Married with two sons, he lives with his family in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood.
