Anthony Ferla participates in a number of philanthropic endeavors to better the world around him. He has spent time collecting and delivering over 100 holiday turkeys and numerous gifts for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, individuals who are in need. He also worked in area soup kitchens at Thanksgiving, serving food to those without homes. Another of Anthony Ferla’s charitable endeavors involved working toward leukemia support and treatment. In addition to walking to raise money for leukemia research, he was part of a team that conducted cheek swabs to locate prospective bone marrow donors.
Drawing upon nearly a lifetime of playing football, Anthony Ferla held the position of Assistant Coach on the Temple University football staff. Among his responsibilities working with defensive backs were creating video tests, administering drills, breaking down opponent films, and coordinating the scout team. For some months at that time, he also worked for K-Strength Sports Training. Anthony Ferla used his football experience to help young athletes grow their skills in the sport, teaching them proper weight-lifting techniques, implementing game drills, and organizing speed-training groups. A prior position as an Assistant Physical Therapist with the SportsCare Institute, Inc., found him helping student-athletes recover from their sports injuries and become stronger players in the process.
While obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications at Temple University, Anthony Ferla spent three years as a starting defensive back on the football team. He also served as captain of the team during this time, having accepted the appointment as a sophomore, the youngest player to hold this role. Thanks to his participation in his senior season, the school had its first winning campaign in 19 years.
A longtime resident of New Jersey, Anthony Ferla currently resides in Waldwick. He fills his spare time with activities such as drawing, playing guitar, and going to the beach and likes building model cars and planes.
