Anthony Duva earned his Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Florida in Gainesville. Continuing with his graduate studies, Anthony Duva then earned a Juris Doctor from the university’s Levin College of Law. Later, he completed a graduate program at the University of Central Florida, adding a Master’s degree in Public Administration to his credentials.
An expert in a variety of legal matters, Anthony Duva established his own practice in 1974. In 1976, he became the youngest attorney to be nominated for judgeship. Throughout the following decades, Anthony Duva built a strong record in health, commercial, criminal, constitutional, and property law, as well as legal writing. He also holds experience in providing counsel during trial procedures and business transactions.
In 1994, after two decades of legal practice, Anthony Duva accepted the role as the Chief Development Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Florida Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Taking responsibility for all of the organization’s fund-raising efforts over the next four years, Anthony Duva successfully generated annual funding of $750,000 from public sources. He helped acquire approximately $1 million a year in donations from private sources.
In 1998, Anthony Duva left the Governor’s Council in order to lead the PREMIERE Center for Cosmetic Surgery as Vice President of Development and Operations. Two years after taking the position, Anthony Duva had increased the company’s gross general revenue by 100 percent. He achieved this notable success by creating, refining, and launching statewide plans for business strategy and operations and by authoring daily operations manuals for each office within the company.
Currently, Anthony Duva draws upon his experience in law, fundraising, human resources, administration, and healthcare while serving as Associate Vice President for Gift Planning at the Georgia Health Sciences University. In this role, Anthony Duva oversees all planned gifts for donors to any of the five colleges of the university.
